There’s a new singer-songwriter, his name is Jon Allen, he wrote a beautiful song “In Your Light”. It’s a very good song. It’s been a while since anyone actually wrote a good simple song like this. Can’t wait to hear his other songs. Will he make it big? We’ll see…
I was browsing YouTube and stumbled upon 3 nice clips of Adele doing an accoustic session for Virgin Radio (in France – i assume). She did a lovely job and I just love the guitar! He’s a damn good guitarist.
Yes, Michael Jackson is back, 12 years after his last tour. He is set to play 10 dates at the O2 London this July. However the rumour says if he’s doing well they might add another 20 dates to make it the longest residency tour at the O2 yet, a record previously held by Prince for 21 dates in 2007. It is also reported that he will at least receive £1.5 million for each of his performances.
During the press conference Michael said this will be his last performances in London. I doubt it will be, this is Michael Jackson we’re talking about , the biggest pop star of our generation. If Prince managed 21 dates, he will have no problems doing 30 !
Watch out people, MJ mania will hit London! Welcome back Michael !
Loney Dear is basically a one man band from Sweden. Everything is played and recorded by Emil Svanängen in his bedroom. He only just signed by a major record label for his latest album Dear John (although this is actually his 5th album) and the first single is Airport Surroundings.
It’s classic Loney Dear with a bit of 80’s twist. The “na na na” is still there combined with lots of synths and Warren G’s style rap. Don’t freak out, it actually sounds nice. It starts with upbeat drums and funky bassline which is quite a departure for Loney Dear, normally he likes to start slow and build up towards the end.
The song is now available on iTunes. Although i have to say, i prefer the album version than the one on the video
There’s a new cool singer from New Zealand called Ladyhawke. Her first debut single “Paris is Burning” is currently one of the top spins on UK radios. This song has got a catchy chorus with 80’s influenced synths. Nice production i must say, not too over produced.
I saw GMTV Morning advert on TV and was wowed by the song they use. I did a bit of googling and found out it was Jamie Lidell – Another Day. It’s released a year ago, I can’t believe I never heard of him before. No matter how sad you are this song will cheer you up for sure.
It was my first Killers concert and I didn’t know what to expect – it felt great not knowing what to expect. lol. It was great to finally see them live. I had been trying to get tickets since their first album, but it’s always sold out so quickly.
The stage design wasn’t that special to be honest nor was the visual images that they’re using througout the concert. Average i would say. Nevertheless, it was their repertoire that makes them one of the biggest bands in the world at the moment.
They opened the gig with HUMAN, their massive hits from the last album. It was magic, I could see everyone in the stadium just jumping around and dancing through out the song. It truly was amazing. Hits after hits for 1.5 hours. From crowd favourites such as Somebody Told Me, Smile Like You Mean It (i love the accoustic version they did!), Mr Brightside to the lesser known such as The World That We Live In, A Dustland Fairytale (from the last album). The crowd was sing along to Flower’s daft lyrics.
Brandon Flower as always doing this funny dance move which was quite entertaining to watch. He’s done a very good job with his vocal though. The only thing they lack was communication. He didn’t seem to talk much, just kept singing song after song. However it was ok, it didn’t bother me at all.
The venue itself had got some problems with the sound systems (from where I sat anyway – which wasn’t that far from the stage). It was really echoy and quite alot of feedback for the first 3-4 songs. Although they seemed to fix it with some random feedback here and there.
Conclusion: This isn’t gonna be my last Killers concert. I know i will definitely come to their next one, hopefully i will get standing tickets for a better experience.
Rating:4/5 (i would give it a 5 if the sound was better).
I actually thought this song was by Master Shortie, apparently it’s by another guy called Chipmunk. Their style is pretty much the same. This song is like Hip Hop meets Rock – the music is off the hook you can’t help yourself but to dance. Brilliant! I’ll be checking out his other stuff soon.
It’s been a while since I wrote a review but Beyonce’s latest offering “Single Ladies” has put me back on track.
Have you heard a song that makes you feel uncomfortable, dizzy, annoyed… basically it just makes you feel sooo sick and tired that you want to throw the radio out of the balcony?
Look no more… Single Ladies by Beyonce answers that question.
The song is all over the place. The intro, chorus, beat, vocal… i mean EVERYTHING, they just don’t work with each other. It’s like 3-4 different songs put together with a shit background music. What on earth is that weird sound behind the beat? Is that a sound fx from Mario Kart?
It is the worse song in 2009 and it’s only February ! Definitely in my top 5 worse songs ever in my life. Stop it Beyonce! It’s ridiculous !!!
This tune has got to be one of the coolest songs of 2009. I love it, i love it, i love it ! The song, the video, everything is just great! Friendly Fires – Skeleton Boy
